The Late Patrick Franklyn Davis  (Patty Cakes)

Sunrise: December 9th, 1974

Sunset: October 28th, 2018

Patrick Franklyn Davis was born on the early morning of December 9th, 1974 to his proud parents Frank & Ellen Davis which has both predeceased him at the early age of 42.

Patrick started his early education at Claridge Primary School in The Bahamas. After the loss of his father in 1980, his paternal grandmother, Keva Davis, adopted him at the tender age of 7. Patrick then moved to West Palm Beach to reside with her and again at age 16, being a very adventurous lad, he moved to Miami to live with his sister, Wendy Davis. He resided there until he graduated from high school. Patty Cakes then took yet another adventure as he started Florida A&M University.

While in Tallahassee, Patrick worked at several restaurants eventually settling on the Old Town Cafe. He found a local Anglican parish down the street, St. Andrew's and became a member since he felt so welcome and accepted in the multi-cultural church since many of the members ate at the cafe. He developed a relationship with the parish Rector, Eric Lewis and became his lifelong friend in 1999. He also got adopted again as an adult by his family as another son and brother.

In 2001 he moved Charlottesville, Virginia, where he worked for Clear Channel Radio in Traffic and Promotions and did some restaurant work. In 2004, he moved to Memphis, Tennessee. He worked for Clear Channel Television until they were sold. It was after this that he began his career with Cracker Barrel Old Country Store where he has made many friends at the store in Lakeland, Tennessee.

In 2014, he moved to Savannah, Georgia and transferred to the Cracker Barrel on Abercorn St. where he made many more friends. In 2017, a foot injury brought on disability and he was unable to continue to work.

Treasured memories will always be in the hearts of his brothers, Frank Davis, Jr., Lucjan Kepa; his sisters, Wendy Davis, Janice Taylor, Eleanor Davis, Andrea Davis-Sands; a host of nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Eric Lewis. Other relatives and friends, Edna Moss, Flora Bennett, Ruth Miller, Cheryl Moss, and others too numerous to mention at this time. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses from St. Joseph/Candler Hospital, who worked feverishly to ensure that his last days were comfortable and his extended family at Cracker Barrel.

The Lewis Family considered him a loved son and brother. He will be missed. He considered the parents, Donald and Lanighta, his second set of parents. They both passed in Summer 2017. He also gained two sisters, Paula and her husband Gary, and Anita and her husband Daniel. He also enjoyed their children who he saw grow up into young men.

Remembrances may be made to Humane Society for Greater Savannah, 7215 Sallie Mood Drive, Savannah, GA 31406 0r you may donate online to ASPCA.

I treasure Rev. Eric Lewis, and know how much Patrick meant to him, and impacted his life. Too soon, Rest in Peace Patrick, and know how blessed you and Eric are to have found one another and walked through 20 years of your life together. The Lord Bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord lift up the light of HIS countenance upon you and give you peace.

Patrick was such a special person. You could always count on him to make some sort of joke and put a smile on everyone’s face. He cared so much about all of his friends and was just a down to earth guy. He will be forever missed. Love you Patty cake.

Patrick was such a loving person. He was always one of my favorite people from my days at Cracker Barrel. I hadn’t spoken with him in a long while but I definitely will miss seeing his goofy posts on Facebook and having the random checkup from him. My heart goes out to all his family and close friends. He was probably one of the most valuable people I’ve ever met.
